Parnall Engineering Advanced Ltd was founded to inspire young people by providing training and creating opportunities to work on exciting, unique projects at the Trelonk in Cornwall. We make this happen with the support of our in-house industry experts alongside industry leaders providing mentoring and support. By engaging young people in projects ranging from research & development, aviation, marine, alternative reality engineering, design, hospitality and horticulture, we provide them with unique opportunities to develop their skills, enabling them to stay in Cornwall to build their careers.
Parnall sat at the very centre of engineering excellence in the UK in the 20s, 30s and 40s. Parnall Aircraft employed 10,000 people in and around Bristol in building aircraft and aircraft parts, including Spitfires. They produced their own series of aeroplanes such as the Panther, Puffin, Plover and worked with leading companies such as Frazer Nash, Bentley and Rolls Royce.
During the 1920’s the company supplied Parnall Panthers for the aircraft carriers, HMS Argus and HMS Hermes. Then in the 1940’s, the company produced gun turrets for heavy bombers including Lancasters.
This rich engineering heritage forms the backbone to our projects today which include the building of one Submarine Spitfire to flying standard plus another as a static training tool. We are also developing innovative new design techniques in the marine, construction and alternative reality engineering sectors of the future.
